The birds flew upside down here. That was new. Not that this timeline made sense, of course. Red was stop and green was go. But sometime around the second world war the smart guys went beyond splitting the atom and into combining molecules. Broke the fabric of reality. I might be getting that wrong. But then again, a talking dog explained it to me. He was touchy about it.
"Just because humans can barely read doesn't mean dogs don't study particle physics!" He said, before a mouth formed on the tip of his tail and started to eat him.
"Oh man, I get to die again? Dying's the best!" Much like a swarm of bees, the mouths that formed along his tale ate him from the inside. He seemed to enjoy the pain, which was weird. So I grabbed my pistol and shot at the mouths. They stopped biting.
"What...did you do that...for? Now I can't reincarnate...oh no..." He said, drifting off. Then a clicking came from above me. The upside down birds had stopped moving. Holding a position in the sky, the encircled me from above, bubbling with rage. A gentle clack that started by itself and grew into a ominous gurgle as the upside down birds merged together, screaming in agonizing joy while unused pieces of them splattered to the ground.
"Well fuck all of that." I said, pulling out the black box with the red circle in the middle. Pushing the red button, a shining rainbow portal opened and I jumped inside, just before the bird monster dove at me. Some timelines made me miss the Zombie King.
